Event 7 - $600 NLH Seniors at the PokerAtlas Tour in Las Colinas delivered not only a champion and runner-up, but also an unforgettable story.
This year’s first and second place finishers not only shared the final table, they also shared something else: a hometown. Both players are from the same area of Manila, yet had never met until their paths crossed here in Texas-8,300 miles from home.
The connection sparked in the unlikeliest of ways. Second place noticed the hat worn by the champion, emblazoned with the logo of a foundation he recognized back in Manila. What started as a comment about the hat turned into a conversation, and soon the two realized just how much they had in common.
In that moment, poker became more than a competition. It became a bridge-linking two strangers from the same city, halfway around the world, who discovered friendship and community through a shared game and a simple logo.
