Heads up play has begun between Patrick Christensen and Raj Varakala in the NL 2-7 Single Draw event!

Christensen holds the chip lead and offered Varakala an ICM deal but Varakala declined the offer. Varakala took 2nd place last year in the same event and he said he wasn't interested in finishing 2nd best again.

With blinds at 15,000/30,000/45,000, Varakala raised to 80,000. Christensen went all in and Varakala quickly made the call.

Both players were drawing one card. Christensen was the covering stack drawing at a smooth 8 with 8432. Varakala tabled T832. Christensen drew an ace while Varakala made a jack. Varakala secured the massive double up, which left Christensen with just 165,000.

In the next hand, Christensen moved all in and got snapped by Varakala. Varakala went Pat. Christensen had to adjust and drew three while holding 42. Varakala tabled a rough ten with T9864. Christensen paired his deuce in the middle of sweating his draw. Tournament down.

Varakala gets redemption on his 2nd place finish from the year before and we are sure he'll be playing many more events in the coming week.
